Why every check is free

A vehicle's MOT history, tax status and mileage record are public information held by government agencies. We believe you shouldn't have to pay, register or hand over your email address to see it. Free Reg Check puts the full record one search away: no accounts, no charges, no lookup limits.

Most people use us when buying a used car. The MOT and mileage trail reveals more about a vehicle than any advert: recurring faults, clocked odometers, expired tax. Our job is to make that record easy to read and easy to act on.

Where the data comes from

Every report is built from official sources: MOT history from the DVSA and tax, registration and emissions details from the DVLA. We explain exactly what we use, how fresh it is, and what the free data can't tell you on our data sources page.

Independence

Free Reg Check is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the DVLA or DVSA. We don't sell vehicles, we don't broker finance, and a report's contents are never influenced by anyone with a stake in the sale.
